Jump to Recipe Jump to Video Print Recipe

Creamy Jalapeno Sauce is the boss!! Creamy, savory with a hint of lime dressing you will want to drench over EVERYTHING. It's MILD and completes every meal. Top it on tacos, burritos, salads, dip chips in it or make big tray of pulled pork nachos. I'll show you how!

    What is Creamy Jalapeño Sauce?

Creamy jalapeño sauce is the perfect addition to all things- especially Mexican food. It's easy and throws together in minutes. Try topping it on nachos, Dipping your taquitos in, or pouring it over tacos! Most the time we just generously dip crunchy tortilla chips straight in it.

    Is This Jalapeño Sauce Spicy?

No, It's very mild! Make  sure you cut out the rinds and seeds from the peppers. Then the  jalapeños add flavor not heat. If you would like to add some additional heat you can remove only the stem and blend the entire jalapeño OR add a spicy pepper (like habanero) in addition to the jalapeños.

What Ingredients Do I Need For Jalapeno Sauce?

    You will need:

    • jalapeños
    • mayo
    • sour cream
    • ranch dip mix- While you can use ranch dressing mix I recommend using the dip. It's a bit thicker and creamier.
    • cilantro
    • lime

    How To Make Jalapeño Sauce

With only a few ingredients this creamy jalapeno sauce comes together in only 5 minutes.

Four step by step photos showing the ingredients added to a blender and blended.
    1. Starting with your liquids add them to your blender. Mayo, Sour Cream and lime juice.
    2. Add jalapeños, cilantro and ranch packet.
    3. Blend together
    4. Store in an air tight container in the fridge until ready to use. The sauce thickens as it sits.

What Do I Serve Creamy Jalapeño Sauce With?

    • Serve as a dip with tortilla chips!
    • Serve over carnitas tacos, or al pastor tacos
    • It tastes just like Cafe Rio Salad and goes perfect with this 15 minute cafe rio salad.
    • Dip these creamy chicken taquitos in it.

    FAQ's?

Is this jalapeño sauce gluten free?

Yes. I always recommend to check the list of ingredients of the brands you have chosen, but typically these ingredients are gluten free.

How long does homemade sauce stay food for?

In an air tight container in the fridge this jalapeño sauce recipe will stay food for up to two weeks.

How do I control the spice level?

I remove the seeds and rinds from the jalapeños and it's a very mild dip. Like mild enough for my toddler to eat it. For additional spice throw the entire jalapeno in after trimming off the stem.

PRO TIP: Large jalapeños are less spicy than smaller jalapeños. Pick bigger peppers if possible.
