What is 7 Layer Dip?

7 layer dip is a Mexican inspired dip that is made up of layers of common Mexican chip dippers.  In the 7 layer dip recipe, we have used refried beans, seasoned greek yogurt, mild salsa, shredded cheese, avocado, diced tomatoes, and sliced olives.

What Do I Need To Make This Dip?

For this recipe you’ll need:
  • refried beans
  • plain greek yogurt
  • mild salsa
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • avocado
  • roma tomatoes
  • sliced black olives
  • cilantro
  • chili powder
  • garlic salt
  • onion salt
  • cumin
  • paprika

  1. Measure out your seasoning and plain greek yogurt.
  2. Mix together in a medium bowl until well combined, then set aside.

  3. In a whiskey glass, juice glass, or clear disposable cup – layer about 1/2 inch of refried beans.
  4. Top with 1/2 inch of seasoned greek yogurt.
  5. Add 1/2 inch of mild red salsa.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

  8. Sprinkle on diced tomato.
  9. Add sliced black olives.

I love to serve mine with tortilla chips or crackers.  Crunchmaster crackers are a wonderful addition to your spread as well.

How Long Does 7 Layer Dip Last In The Fridge?

7 layer dip lasts 3-4 days in the fridge. The  layers will bleed together and become watery if the dip sits.  For these reasons, I like to serve my dip the same day that it is made.

Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups plain greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp onion salt
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 15 ounces low fat refried beans

  • 1 avocado diced
  • 2 roma tomatoes diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounces sliced olives
  • cilantro for garnish
Instructions
  1. Measure out your seasoning and plain greek yogurt.
  2. Mix together in a medium bowl until well combined.  Set aside.
