What Is A Crazy Limeade Slush?

While I was in Costa Rica we walked to a small restaurant around the corner from our condo and were caught in a down pour! It was one of our first nights there and we were loving trying the new foods and flavors. I ordered a lemonade that sounded amazing. They called it crazy lemonade- underneath it read; mint, ginger, limes.  What they brought me was an icey, minty limeade. It was bursting with flavor and I found myself not being able to wait for the next sip. So, of course, we're making our own- only changing the name slightly because clearly it's crazy limeade. This is a photo of our drinks that night and the crazy limeade.

What Do I Need To Make Crazy Limeade Slush?

You'll need to add the following to your grocery list:

    • frozen limeade concentrate
    • fresh mint
    • fresh ginger
    • limes for garnish
    • ice

Pro Tip: Find your frozen limeade in the freezer section with other frozen juice concentrates.

Ingredients for limeade slush in a bowl filled with ice: limeade concentrate, ginger, and mint.

How to make crazy limeade Slush

It's so fast and simple! This limeade only requires a few ingredients- but it is the combination of the ingredients that makes it incredible.

    1. Place the limeade concentrate, ½ cup fresh mint leaves, 1 inch of fresh ginger, 1 ½ cups water and 3 cups of ice into a blender.

Pro Tip: Place your liquid at the bottom of the blender jar and layer ingredients, adding ice last.  By adding liquids to the jar first you allow the blade to blend everything without getting jammed up with ice.

    2. Blend until its a slushy type consistency (about 30-40 seconds)!

    3. Serve it in my fancy glasses with extra mint and lime wedges for garnish!

DO YOU HAVE A BLENDER RECOMMENDATION?

We are die hard Blendtec fans around here.  I’ve been using the brand for years and years and I’ll never own another blender.  Many years ago my husband offered to buy me a designer bag for my birthday, or a Blendtec.  I chose the Blendtec blender and I’ve never looked back.  It is truly something in my kitchen that I used every day.  A high powered blender is unmatched to other blenders.  You can blend and emulsify like a pro.
