    If you are looking for the best dressing for all your summer salads this basil vinaigrette is it! Top it on salads, on your fresh garden veggies, grilled meat! It goes with EVERYTHING.

    • Fast and Easy to Make! Use your overgrown basil plant, or pick up a few fresh packs from the grocery store. I bet you have the remaining ingredients in your pantry.
    • Goes with so many dishes! Put it on a fresh delicious salad, wraps and sandwiches, tomato and mozzarellas and drizzle on grilled meats. It's seriously so versatile.
    • Crowd favorite! Basil is a herb that is universally loved. Even the picky eaters will devour this.

    What Do I Need To Make Basil Vinaigrette?

    The most important ingredients Is fresh basil! You can't use dried for this recipe. The nice thing is that you can find fresh basil all year round in your nearby grocery store.

    1. Fresh Basil- I love having a little herb garden. Basil is easy to grow and grows fast!
    2. Olive oil- you can use your favorite olive oil or extra virgin
    3. Red Wine Vinegar- this gives it the perfect tangy flavor
    4. Seasonings

    How To Make Basil Vinaigrette!

    You wont believe that something so fast and easy to make can taste this flavorful and good!

    1. Start by adding your liquids and seasonings to a blender
    2. Add your basil
    3. Blend until smooth!
    4. It's ready to serve.

    How do I store Basil Vinaigrette?

    Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

    What do I serve Basil Vinaigrette with?

    I love to top it on

    • Caprese salad or appetizer- fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. It takes up the typical capers salad up a few notches in flavor
    • Summer salad- serve with your garden lettuce, fresh fruits and veggies from the produce in season
    • Grilled chicken or steak
    • I served this over Burrata and we dipped baguettes in it....holy moly. It was delish.

    Ingredients

    Basil Vinaigrette

    • ¾ cup olive oil
    • 2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
    • 2 ½ cup basil leaves
    • 1 small shallot
    • 1 garlic clove
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • pinch of red pepper flakes

    Instructions

    Basil Vinaigrette

    • Add oil, red wine vinegar and the remaining ingredients to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.

    How Do I Save Leftovers? 

    To save leftovers store in an airtight container. You can remove the avocado if you are worried about it going brown. If it already has dressing on it eat with in 1-2  days. If it doesn't have dressing it will save a little longer.
