What Do I Need To Put On My Grocery List?

The ingredients for this dry mix are simple and easy to find.

    • Dry Milk - this makes the drink extra creamy and delicious.
    • Vanilla Powdered Coffee Creamer - for a touch of sweetness.
    • Granulated Sugar - to sweeten up the drink.
    • Ground Cinnamon - for some heat and spice.
    • Nutmeg - to balance everything out.
    • Milk - you can also use water if you'd like to skip the milk.

How Do I Make Warm Milk and Cinnamon?

There are two steps to this recipe.  The first is making the dry mix, which can be stored in your pantry for a few months.  Let me go over that.

    The Dry Mix

    1. In a large bowl or mason jar, add powdered milk.
    2. Add coffee creamer.
    3. Top with sugar.
    4. Add cinnamon and nutmeg.  Shake or stir until combined.

This Dry Mix Makes A Great Gift!

I've given this dry mix as a neighbor gift so many times!  Simple add it to a mason jar, tie a ribbon around it along with instructions for use, and give away!  I've received so many compliments on this drink mix!

    Cooking In Your Pressure Cooker

The next part of the recipe is adding the dry mix to hot milk.  There are a few methods for doing this.  You can either heat your milk on the stovetop, and then stir in your dry mix, or you can make it in your pressure cooker.  Let me show you how.

    1. Add milk to your pressure cooker.
    2. Pour in dry mix.
    3. Stir until completely dissolved.
    4. Cook on low pressure for 3 minutes.  Allow a 2 minutes natural release.

What Should I Serve Warm Milk With Cinnamon With?

This drink is the perfect combo to a gingersnap or snickerdoodle.  It is also a star all on its own.  I think it's time to pull on your sweat pants, turn on your favorite Christmas movie, and drink a cup of warm milk and cinnamon.

What Are The Benefits of Drinking Warm Milk and Cinnamon?

Cinnamon has anti-microbial as well as anti-inflammatory properties. When sick - drinking this can comfort your throat and fight off infections. Another benefit is that is can suppress your appetite.  While we've added sugar to this recipe, you can omit it if you'd like a lighter version.

Other benefits include a boost in brain function, and it acts as an antioxidant. Cinnamon also can help you fall asleep at night. It will help your body relax and alleviate your stress. It will also take care of your body's digestion and help youachieve a restful sleep.

At night when I couldn't fall asleep as a kid, my mom would warm up milk for me. I'd drink it and within minutes I'd be sleeping. I cannot wait to gather all the ingredients and try your spin on warm milk on Christmas Day, opening presents with the kids and hubby at my mom's house sitting in front of the fire place. I love looking at your weekly recipes and learning how to incorporate veggies for my family. Congrats on the new bundle of joy!

Yum! I've been trying to figure out what to do for neighbor gifts this year since I really don't have time to bake. This is perfect! About how many mason jars will the above recipe fill?

This recipe makes a pint of powder mix. I give half pints to my neighbors and just triple/quadruple the recipe in a big bowl.
