Cream Cheese Pesto Spread

Last year my mother in law told me about this tasty little appetizer.  So when we hosted a Christmas party I whipped  up this cream cheese pesto spread and it was completely gone by the end of the night.  It was so simple and so tasty, that I had to make it again this year when we attended an ugly sweater party.  I got so many compliments and questions on this easy dish that I decided to share it here with you guys.

Only 4 Ingredients

I really love recipes that are simple, have minimal ingredients, but pack a big punch of flavor.  And that is what this cream cheese pesto spread it.  You layer cream cheese, pesto, tomatoes, and Italian cheese and you’re done!  You can make this in a casserole dish or in a cast iron skillet like I’ve done here.

The Dippers

This dip is warm and melty with a burst of flavor.  You can serve it with crackers or chips.  This spread is perfect for your holiday party – I love the red and green combo.  But really – this appetizer is good all year round.  You can’t beat the classic flavors of tomato and pesto. Appetizer are really one of my favorite parts of the holidays – check out our cranberry salsa, and our southern dip while you’re at it.

This cream cheese and pesto spread is utterly delicious and so easy. It's perfect for serving up at parties, movie night or any occasion!

  • 1 8 ounce blocks of cream cheese
  • 7 ounces of Pesto
  • 2 roma tomatoes diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. In a small baking dish, spread cream cheese in the bottom.
  2. Top with pesto and spread evenly.
  3. Sprinkle tomatoes on top of the pesto.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of tomatoes.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, or until shredded cheese is melted.
  6. Serve with crackers or chips.
