Three ingredients. Four steps. You'll please a crowd with this easy sausage dip without breaking a sweat. Savory sausage, spicy ro-tel, and smooth cream cheese come together with tortilla chips for a warm and indulgent dip.
Why This Recipe Works
Let's just call this dip heaven on a chip. This is an indulgent dip made from Italian sausage, cream cheese, and a tomato/green chili blend. You can serve it with chips, sliced bread, or veggies.
About The Ingredients
This dip is terribly easy. Here are a few notes about the ingredients.
- 2 pounds Italian sausage - buy the ground version.
- 20 ounces ro-tel - these are simply diced tomatoes with green chilis.
How Do You Make Easy Sausage Dip?
Making the dip is nearly as simple as the ingredient list!
- Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Melt cream cheese into sausage.
- Add rotel and heat thru.
- (These next steps are optional) transfer to a casserole dish.
- Top with shredded mozzarella, heat under broiler until bubbly.
- Garnish and serve with corn chips, bread, or veggies.
Pro Tip: If skipping the mozzarella step, serve dip in a crockpot to keep it warm.
You Pick The Heat Level!
The sausage mixed with tomatoes with green chilis is what gives this dip a little kick. If you want a lot of heat, buy hot sausage and the "hot" ro-tel. We stick to mild all around and it has plenty of flavor and spicy for our taste.
