Who else struggles with breakfast!? I am ALWAYS rushed in the morning, so my go-to breakfast is always a shake. I’ve come up with some fun, tasty recipes over the years – and so I thought I’d share one of my staples today – this chocolate coconut protein shake – it tastes just like an almond joy.
Start The Day Off Right with this Chocolate Coconut Protein Shake
With all of the processed foods these days I like to start off the day with something that is good for me, so I find a breakfast shake to be just what I need to start my day off right!
Chocolate Coconut Protein Shake – The Run Down
Let me give you the run down. In my blender I throw in
- ice cubes
- ripe organic bananas
- coconut milk
- flake coconut
- vanilla
- almond butter
- a scoop of chocolate protein powder
Give the blender a whirl and fill your cup with a clean almond joy breakfast shake
My Favorite Protein Powders
When it comes to protein powders, I tend to like them on the sweet side. I really like BSN Syntha 6 and Shakeology. The Shakeology is on the pricer side, but includes a ton of good for you ingredients, while the Syntha 6 is a simple protein powder.
Coconut Milk Or Milk Of Your Choice
If you don’t have coconut milk on hand, you can substitute another milk like almond or dairy – but I like to have some almond and coconut milk handy for my morning shakes. I really prefer the flavor in shakes over dairy milk.
Make sure you check out our other shakes this week. And come back and tell us about the ones you try out! We love to hear from our readers! Enjoy!
