Peach cobbler in a cup. A healthier, more filling and satisfying but equally (or more!) delicious version of peach cobbler. This Peach Smoothie is fast to whip together and perfect for all your peach and fall cravings.
WHAT IS PEACH COBBLER
If you are not familiar with peach cobbler its a baked dish with a sweet peach bottom and a cinnamon cake top. It's often served hot with cool creamy vanilla ice cream or whip cream. With this peach smoothie you get the cool creaminess of the ice cream along with the sweet juicy cinnamon peach flavor.
WHAT PEACHES DO I USE?
If its peach season I highly recommend using some delicious ripe or over ripe peaches. For an extra thick smoothie freeze your peaches before hand.
CAN I FREEZE LARGE BATCH OF PEACHES?
YES! especially if it is peach season take all those extra sweet and extra ripe peaches and batch freeze them for future smoothies through the winter.
HOW TO FREEZE PEACHES
- WASH AND SLICE YOUR PEACHES
- LAY ON A SINGLE LAYER ON A BAKING SHEET
- LET FREEZE SEPARATED
ONCE FROZEN COMBINE TOGETHER IN AN AIR TIGHT BAG OR CONTAINER.
CAN I USE STORE BOUGHT PEACHES?
Yes! If you don't have fresh peaches, use store bought frozen peaches.
WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE PEACH COBBLER SMOOTHIE?
- frozen peaches
- milk
- banana
- vanilla protein powder
- oatmeal
- cinnamon and nutmeg
- ice
HOW TO MAKE PEACH SMOOTHIE
I really don't think this need much explaining. Throw everything in the blender and blend. BUT here are a few tips below
PRO TIP: WHEN BLENDED ADD LIQUID FIRST
Next add fruit- since they are also water heavy. Then oats, protein powder and spices.
Lastly add your ice and blend
WHY ARE THESE INGREDIENTS IMPORTANT?
- I love to add a scoop of protein powder to my smoothies and shakes. It give you an extra boost of energy, extra nutrients and helps you to stay full and satisfied.
- The banana adds sweetness & nutrients.
- The oats add creaminess and also helps you to stay full until lunch!
DO I NEED TO PEEL THE PEACHES?
No, the blender will blend the skins so you won't notice any texture. Sometimes homegrown peach skin is extra thick, if this is the case you would prefer to peel them go ahead! It is not necessary however.
DO I HAVE TO FREEZE THE PEACHES?
You can put in fresh peaches, frozen peaches will just make your peach smoothie extra thick.
WHATS THE BEST KIND OF PROTEIN POWDER TO USE?
If you are making this shake for kids, I love Kidzshake! or vanilla breakfast carnation.
If you are making it for yourself use your favorite vanilla flavored protein powder, or breakfast carnation. You can also omit the protein powder and add a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
