What Are Peach and Grilled Shrimp Kabobs?

Traditional shish kebab is made with various meats and then grilled hot and fast on wooden or metal skewers. These Peach and Grilled Shrimp Kabobs are a twist on the classic. We've combined tender shrimp, juicy peaches, and fresh asparagus for a quick dinner.

What Do I Need To Add To My Grocery List?

    For this recipe you'll need:

    • 1 lb raw jumbo shrimp peeled, deveined, and tail on.  About 16-20 shrimp per pound
    • 1 bunch of asparagus
    • 4-5 fresh and ripe peaches
    • soy sauce
    • sriracha
    • honey
    • fresh limes

Ingredients needed for making peach and grilled shrimp kabobs - shrimp, asparagus. peaches, limes, soy sauce, sriracha, honey.

Tell Me How To Make it!

Making this recipe is so fast and easy that you won't even believe it!

Prep: slice peaches into 8 wedges, cut asparagus stems in half.

    1. Prepare your marinade by combining soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice in a medium bowl.
    2. Whisk until smooth.  Reserve half for serving.
    3. Thread ingredients onto skewers by alternating a peach wedge, a shrimp, and a half of an asparagus, repeat.
    4. Grill over medium-high heat for 3 minutes, flip and grill another 3 minutes.
    5. Brush marinade onto skewers quickly.
    6. Serve with additional sauce and lime wedges.

Pro Tip: Do not overcook your shrimp.  Overcooked shrimp is tough and yucky.  So as soon as your shrimp pinks up, it is done!

    How to make shrimp kabobs.

    CHOOSING THE RIGHT SHRIMP

When it comes to purchasing shrimp, always choose fresh if available.  The next best will be frozen.  For this recipe you will need jumbo shrimp. There are about 16 shrimp per pound with this size.  I prefer them to be:

    1. deveined
    2. shelled
    3. and the tail on

Tip: Always use raw shrimp for this recipe – if you opt for previously cooked your shrimp will turn out tough after cooking on the grill.

How Do you Prevent Shrimp From Sticking To Your Grill?

Give your gas grill plenty of time to heat up (at least 10 minutes) or wait until your charcoal is covered with a white-hot ash before you start. You can also oil the grates of your grill.
