The Rotisserie Chicken is one of my secret weapons! I use them as a shortcut to creating delicious meals without cooking a chicken. I love to eat one of these for dinner with a side salad, but I love them even more as an ingredient in a delicious recipe. The meat is perfect for soups, casseroles, enchiladas, salads and more!
My Costco sells them for $4.99 - and they are so good! They are moist, they are flavorful, and cooked PERFECTLY. When I make a Costco run I buy 2 or 3 along with other bulk items.
When I get home I from Costco I remove the skin and pull the meat from the bones. I shred the meat into a freezer bag. The Food Saver is a staple in my kitchen. It has been for years - so I seal up the bag using it. If you don't have a food saver a regular freezer zip lock will work great too! Just press the air out and seal it closed.
I love that the Food Saver prevents freezer burn on my frozen foods. It saves me money and it keeps my foods fresher longer.
Foodsaver has come a long way and their machines come with lots and lots of fun accessories - including a marinate mode that will suck the air out of an airtight container for extra quick marinating at dinner time. They come with a drip drawer so that any leaked moisture can be easily cleaned up. Now-a-days they come with different sealing modes too! I have this image burned in my brain of my mother flattening and brand new loaf of bread she was planning on freezing, ha ha. Now you can pulse the seal or stop it at any time.
In my opinion the Foodsaver is a must have for any kitchen. As busy moms, I think it is important to buy in bulk and prep as much as you can. At least for me it helps me stay on top of my daily tasks and keeps me from ordering a pizza on a busy day. To check out all of the latest Foodsavers visit their website. Leave me a comment and let me know if you're a foodsaver user and what your favorite thing to seal is.
