BBQ chicken is a favorite at our house - in fact, it is my husband's absolute favorite dinner. Over the years I've perfected how to make tender, juicy, and delicious bbq chicken and today I'm sharing all of my secrets!
When it comes to special dinners - my hubby always requests a simple bbq chicken dinner. It doesn't matter if it is Father's Day, his birthday, or Christmas Day, his request will always be the same. So of course I have tried to make this simple meal extra special by focusing on buying really good cuts of chicken, and adding delicious sides like mac and cheese, corn on the cob, or cucumber salad.
Homemade BBQ Sauce
We really love our Kraft Original BBQ sauce, but I've set out to create a delicious homemade sauce and kiss all of those unpronounceable ingredients goodbye. And the best part is that you probably have all of the ingredients in your pantry already. This homemade sauce comes together in about 5 minutes, and is sweet, smokey, tangy, and all around delicious.

Secrets To Tender Chicken
Another secret to making delicious bbq chicken is marinating your chicken in a little soda water. I usually use what I have on hand - La Croix, sprite, whatever you have will do. This tenderizes the meat and makes is super moist and flavorful. You can marinate overnight, or as little as 30 minutes. I do both with similar results.
We do boneless breasts sometimes, chicken tenders sometimes, and bone in drumsticks and breasts sometimes. All are delicious- I just make sure to buy a good cut of meat that is trim.
