This dreamy, thirst quenching homemade strawberry lemonade recipe will be your new favorite drink!

    THE BEST HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY LEMONADE

100% Homemade strawberry lemonade is soo much better than any store bought you can buy. It has a fresh, sweet tang (with no funny aftertaste) and is made from wholesome ingredients without other preservatives store bought can contain. Making your own strawberry lemonade is easy, fast and so much fun. Plus it comes off pretty fancy.

INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR STRAWBERRY LEMONADE

    you will need:

    • strawberries!
    • lemon juice
    • lemon zest
    • sugar
    • sparkling water or water

    CAN I USE FROZEN STRAWBERRIES

If good strawberries are hard to find you can use frozen strawberries. I recommend using whole strawberries and letting them defrost some. Then add the juice that melted + strawberries to pan.

CAN I USE BOTTLED LEMON JUICE?

yes! HOWEVER, fresh lemons really do taste different and will change the flavor of your lemonade. So grab a bag of meyer lemons, or your favorite, at the store and put your kids to work squeezing them. Plus you need the zest.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY LEMONADE

    • Wash and slice your strawberries in half.
    • Then in a medium sauce pan add sugar, lemon juice, water and strawberries.

ADD THE REST OF THE INGREDIENTS AND BRING TO A BOIL

Add your lemon zest and bring to a boil.

WHY DO I ADD LEMON ZEST?

Lemon zest adds extra lemon flavor without adding more sour tartness.

HOW LONG DO I SIMMER THE STRAWBERRIES

Bring your strawberry syrup to a boil and let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes. You want your strawberries to be super mushy and almost dissolving.

    STRAIN YOUR STRUP

You dont want to have the strawberry clumps and seeds in your lemonade, so go ahead and strain them through a fine mesh strainer.Take your strawberry lemonade syrup and let it cool and chill.

COMBINE WITH CHILLED WATER OR SPARKLING WATER

Take your syrup and combine it with chilled sparkling water or chilled water. You can do this in a pitcher or in glasses separately.

MAKE SPARKLING STRAWBERRY LEMONADE FOR A HOLIDAY!

I love the idea of making strawberry syrup! How far in advance do you recommend making this? I am hosting a party and would rather do things a couple nights or more beforehand if possible, to avoid rushing the night before! Thank you!

Hi Rose! If you keep the syrup refrigerated in a air tight container it will last for 2 weeks in the fridge before you mix it with water!.
