Des and I been playing around with offering meal plans for a very long time - so we thought we would give you guys a little taste and see how you like it.
The Dinner Time Curse
I hate to admit this...but even as a food blogger...there are times I really struggle to get dinner on the table. Â I go thru times where I REALLY don't want to make dinner. Â Ordering a pizza or having my husband pick something up just sound a lot more appetizing that chopping, cooking, and cleaning it all up! Â But this year my resolution was to make dinner every single night. Â So far I'm doing great! Â And getting back to the basics is making it easy! Â I have my meal plans going strong and I'm letting myself enjoy it. Â I love that we are all sitting down together eating, and I love that I feel a sense of accomplishment with its all eaten and cleaned up.
Dinner Themes
When I'm making a menu for the week I like to use themes to help me come up with ideas: a nice Sunday dinner, meatless Monday, taco Tuesday, slow cooker/pressure cooker Wednesday, 30 minute meal Thursday, take out favorites Friday, and I leave Saturday for leftovers or date night. Â This helps generate some ideas so I don't get stuck in a rut.
