Des and I been playing around with offering meal plans for a very long time - so we thought we would give you guys a little taste and see how you like it.
The Dinner Time Curse
I hate to admit this...but even as a food blogger...there are times I really struggle to get dinner on the table. I go thru times where I REALLY don't want to make dinner. Ordering a pizza or having my husband pick something up just sound a lot more appetizing that chopping, cooking, and cleaning it all up! But this year my resolution was to make dinner every single night. So far I'm doing great! And getting back to the basics is making it easy! I have my meal plans going strong and I'm letting myself enjoy it. I love that we are all sitting down together eating, and I love that I feel a sense of accomplishment with its all eaten and cleaned up.
Dinner Themes
When I'm making a menu for the week I like to use themes to help me come up with ideas: a nice Sunday dinner, meatless Monday, taco Tuesday, slow cooker/pressure cooker Wednesday, 30 minute meal Thursday, take out favorites Friday, and I leave Saturday for leftovers or date night. This helps generate some ideas so I don't get stuck in a rut.
