Put a little twist on your movie night with marshmallow popcorn! Sticky, creamy, sweet and salty popcorn. It'll be a new family favorite!

    WHAT IS MARSHMALLOW POPCORN?

Marshmallow popcorn is a popcorn covered  fluffy, creamy, buttery melted marshmallow mixture. Its quick and easy to make!

    MARSHMALLOW POPCORN IS GLUTEN-FREE!

This recipe is 100% gluten free. Popcorn and  marshmallow are neither made of ingredients containing wheat. So this is a perfect snack for all friends!

    INGREDIENTS  FOR MARSHMALLOW POPCORN

    • POPCORN
    • MARSHMALLOWS
    • SUGAR
    • KARO SYRUP
    • VANILLA
    • BUTTER
    • ADDITIONAL ADD-INS

WHAT KIND OF POPCORN DO I USE!

You can use whatever is your favorite. If you are using microwave popcorn you will nee 2 bags. You can you lite popcorn, or extra butter it doesn't matter just do not use SWEET popcorn like kettle corn.

CAN I POP MY OWN POPCORN?

YES! you can pop your own popcorn. You will need about 8 cups total. I highly  recommend  you salt and butter it to give the final flavor that salty sweet combo.

    WHAT MARSHMALLOWS DO I USE?

The preferred marshmallows are mini marshmallows. If you are in a bind and only have the large ones you will need to cut them into 4ths so they are about the size of a mini marshmallow.

ADD THE MARSHMALLOWS TO THE POPPED POPCORN

    MARSHMALLOW POPCORN STEPS

In a sauce pan add the butter, sugar and syrup. Bring to a boil for one minute then stir in vanilla

Pour the syrup directly over the marshmallows and popcorn.

    Start stirring

As you stir the bubbly sauce will melt the marshmallows. It'll take a minute or so of stirring to incorporate all the sauce and marshmallows.

    YOU'RE DONE! SO NOW WHAT?

Well you can eat the popcorn just like that. I mean, maybe give it a few minutes to cool but you are ready to go. HOWEVER, toppings are super fun to add to marshmallow popcorn and highly recommended.

    WHAT TOPPINGS CAN I ADD?

OBVI more marshmallows are always a good idea :) you can grab a bag of just cereal marshmallows online or specialty stores.

    OTHER FABULOUS TOPPINGS

    1. Try Sweet's Cinnamon bears. Its a huge favorite. (I like to cut them up into ⅓'s or ½'s
    2. Gummy Bears
    3. Salty Peanut
    4. Once the marshmallow is completely cooled you can add other candies like M&M's, Mike and Ikes etc. Just dont add them while the popcorn is hot or you'll have a melty chocolatey mess. Delicious mess but a mess.

    MARSHMALLOW POPCORN FAQ

HOW DO I STORE MARSHMALLOW POPCORN?

IF there are leftovers store them in a air tight container, even a ziplock bag is great. It can stay at room temp.

    CAN I MAKE THIS AHEAD?

Yes! you can make this a day ahead if needed. It will stay pretty dang soft and fluffy until it's all devoured.

CAN I MAKE POPCORN BALLS WITH THIS RECIPE?

YES! Marshmallow popcorn is pretty sticky in texture so making a ball will not be problem. Once the mixture is all combined instead of leaving it in the bowl to cool I recommend laying it out on parchment paper. When it is still warm but not hot form them into popcorn balls and let cool.
