This egg salad sandwich was always a favorite of mine growing up! I made it so simply with just a few ingredients for my sample palate back then. Now that I’m older and wiser there are a few addition ingredients I love in my egg salad sandwich.

Post-Easter hard boiled egg frenzy is not the only time I like to make egg salad. I often will just make egg salad and eat it without the bread, maybe with a few crackers or by itself. It’s a healthy lean filling salad.
Egg Salad Sandwich – Ingredients
- hard boiled eggs
- *garlic and onion salt.
Egg salad is a combination of a few simple ingredients + herbs and spices that really make the flavor pop.
Some people like to add raw onion, or chives to their egg salad. The flavor balance in egg salad sandwiches are too delicate to add straight raw onion. It will overpower all the other flavors of this delicious salad. The celery and dill add sophistication to the salad that adults love! it’s ok to leave out the celery (ok maybe even the dill) for children. Like mentioned before their palates are simpler, we have to teach them slowly and surely :)
Serve over a crusty, rustic bread or on crackers as an appetizer. Or serve in a lettuce wrap! There are so many ways to eat this egg salad sandwich.
