Batter
- 1 cup melted butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- ½ cup cocoa
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting
- 6 tablespoons butter softened
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 dash salt
- 3 to 3.5 cups powdered sugar
Cookies
Preheat your waffle iron.
Using a hand or stand mixer combine butter and eggs. Mix until well combined.
Add sugar, flour, cocoa, and vanilla, and mix until well combined.
Spray waffle iron with nonstick spray.
Drop batter by the teaspoon onto waffle iron about 2 inches apart.
Close waffle iron and cook for 1 to 1.5 minutes.
Remove from iron and transfer to a cooling wrack. Let cook completely.
Frosting
Using a hand or stand mixer whip butter.
Add in remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.
Spread or pipe frosting on to cooled cookies.
Store in an airtight container

- Cool completely: Allow the cookies to cool completely before topping with the frosting so that it doesn’t melt.
- Storing: Store cookies in a single layer in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. If you want to freeze them, it’s best to leave them unfrosted. Freeze for up to 3 months and be sure to thaw at room temperature before serving.
