Baked Brie Appetizer
This Baked Brie Appetizer is a must-make for any gathering, from dinner parties to holiday celebrations. - 1 small apple Preferably McIntosh, Cortland or Granny Smith
- ⅓ cup golden raisins
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 4- inch brie
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 pieces bacon cooked and crumbled. about ¼ cup
- optional chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Core and chop apple.
Place apple in saucepan with raisins, salt and cider and boil gently until apples are tender but not mushy, about 2 min.
Put Brie in an ovenproof dish slightly larger than the brie.
Strain the liquid from the apple/raisin mixture and place on top of brie.
Add pecans on top if using.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Serve with crackers.
- The brie is done when the top is soft to the touch, rather than firm. Be careful not to overbake or it can collapse or ooze out of the rind.
- Don’t remove the rind before baking. It helps hold the brie together and is meant to be eaten.
