Homemade Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 12 large apples see notes
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼-1/2 cup sugar if desired
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Stove Top Applesauce Instructions

  • Peel, core and slice apples. Add to pot with water, sugar and spices. Bring to a boil then simmer for 15 minutes until apples are soft.
  • Add apples to blender and pulse until it reaches your desired consistency. For a smoother applesauce pulse several times. Apples will be very soft, you wont need to blend. 

Instant pot Instructions

  • Peel and core all apples. Slice. Add to instant pot with 1 cup water, sugar and spices. Cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Natural Release.
  • Add apples to blender and pulse until it reaches your desired consistency. For a smoother applesauce pulse several times. Apples will be very soft, you wont need to blend. 

Slow Cooker Applesauce

  • Peel Core and slice apples. Add to pot pot with water, sugar and spices. Cook high 4 hours.
  • Add apples to blender and pulse until it reaches your desired consistency. For a smoother applesauce pulse several times. Apples will be very soft, you wont need to blend.

This recipe will make 4-6 cups of applesauce depending on the size of the apples you use.
