Ingredients
Cake
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Chocolate Frosting
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 6 T milk
  • 4 cups powder sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • if you are nuts add them!
Instructions
Cake
  1. Melt butter, add all ingredients. mix well.
  2. Bake in greased jelly pan (large cookie sheet) at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes
Chocolate Frosting
  1. Bring to boil butter cocoa and milk
  2. Add powder sugar and vanilla
  3. Frost while cake is still hot.
