Ingredients
Bread:
  • 3 cups flour
    *can sub cup-4-cup gluten-free flour
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Glaze:
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. powder sugar
    or use 3/4 cup reg sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/4 c. orange juice
Instructions
  1. Mix dry ingredients together, and then mix in wet ingredients.

  2. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 inch pans 1 hour. For smaller loafs 20-45 minutes.

  3. Mean while whisk together glaze until sugar is incorporated.
  4. Prick holes in the surface of the cooked loaves with a toothpick.

  5. Pour glaze over immediately after removing bread from oven.
  6. Let cool. Enjoy!
  7. Yields: 2 8 inch loaves. For smaller aliminum pans (3x5 inches) will make about 5 loaves and bakes for about 30 minutes.

Recipe Notes

*To test if your loaf is done press down in the middle- if it springs up it is cooked through, if it stays depressed it need more cooking time.
