EASY SWEET  AND SOUR MEATBALLS

▢2 lb lean ground beef or ground turkey ▢½ cup seasoned bread crumbs ▢1 teaspoon onion salt ▢1 teaspoon garlic salt ▢1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves ▢2 egg slightly beaten ▢½ cup parmesan cheese ▢½ cup sour cream* Meatball sauce ▢1 cup heinz chili sauce usually on the top shelf by ketchup ▢1 cup red currant or grape jelly (usually the whole bottle) ▢½* cup water

INGREDIENTS

Combine ground beef or turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, onion salt, milk, garlic salt, cheese, and oregano. Mix together until fully combined.

STEP 1

Shape the meat into bite-sized meatballs. Brown meatballs in a little oil and drain excess fat.

STEP 2

Brown on all sides, but since you will be simmering in the sauce for 20 minutes they don't need to be cooked through.

STEP 3

In a separate bowl combine chili sauce, jelly, and water and pour over meatballs in the frying pan. Heat stirring occasionally until jelly is melted.

STEP 4

Simmer for 10-15 minutes until sauce has thickened. Serve with rice, or as anappetizer in chafing dish or fondue pot.
