Today we have some veggie meatballs.. or veggie LOADED meatballs we should say. As they are made from beef and filled with veggies. I'm all about sneaking in veggies where I can, and not that I need to either. My kids eat vegetables surprisingly well. Bryce loves loves loves any kind of squash. Addison is a great salad and salsa eater. Crew likes things raw and crunchy. I credit this to the fact that I always serve up vegetables. 1-2 with every meal. Even if they don't like them, they are going . . .
My 4-year-old started preschool this year, so I'm a total newbie at this lunch-making business! Over the past year I had seen others using these PlanetBoxes and I knew I had to have one once the time came for me to become a legit mom. Soccer practice started the same week, so I reached all sorts of crazy levels of mommy hood that I'd never done before! I love the safety of stainless steel, the absence of plastic baggies (cost and environmental reasons), how easy it is to clean, how organized it . . .
I've posted several times about the book that basically changed our lives, Eat To Live. My husband read it, and long story short, I grudgingly followed in his footsteps and we made all sorts of changes to our diet. We added a couple of Netflix documentaries to our repertoire that really drove home the importance of what we put in our bodies, and the decline there has been in the things we put in our bodies. It's shocking, really, and we both felt extremely good making the change. Less . . .
I feel so blessed to have known Jess since we were in grade school. She and I bonded over handmade paper dolls and have been friends ever since. She has amazed me as we have grown up together - always going the extra mile to make things beautiful. She has so many talents from party planning, to baking, to DIYing, and being a super mom. She has been sharing her handmade creations over on mommymakesthings.com and I am thrilled to have be guest blogging here on Oh So! Here's . . .

When it comes down to that crucial moment between letting the blob of baby food drip down your cherub's chin and onto her sparkling-clean brand-new top you just spent 5 minutes wresting her to button up or preserving said outfit, I vote for preserving said outfit. So yes, I quickly wipe away the blob with my thumb. Do I stop what I'm doing to get up and wash it off in the sink or with a paper towel? No. I lick it off myself. Because 'aint nobody got time for civility when you're a momma. Have . . .

Who else buys those applesauce squeeze-packs in bulk from Costco? My kid loves them, and I love that he's basically eating an apple while I'm grocery shopping, driving, at church, or this past weekend, at the lake. What I don't love (well, more what my husband doesn't love) is the cost of those things. And when you really start to think about it, it's quite a bit of environmental waste for something you could be reusing. Enter Laura, our Healthy Mama this week. She and her husband came up . . .
It's birthday season around our house. I have four important b-days to celebrate this week - including my hub. So what better way to have your cake and eat it too, along with your ice cream - than to put both into a milkshake!? My first introduction to the fusion of cake and ice cream was at Portillo's in Buena Park. Des turned me on to this little restaurant - they serve a dang good beef sandwich and are famous for their chocolate cake shakes. Such a treat to eat there! As a matter . . .
