    Ritz Chicken

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

I was standing in my Grandmas kitchen when she said "Oh Desi, you gotta try this new recipe I got. You use RITZ CRACKERS and it's so good." She then went on to describe how to make this dinner in detail and so... Ritz Chicken was born.

My grandma came from the generation that cooked, really cooked. I was always surprised when we would visit and be busy shopping, playing, exhausting ourselves! We'd come home and she would start cooking a big, hearty (delicious) meal for us! I remember thinking at times "Grandma, let's just order takeout!" ha ha. But that rarely happened! They are a generation of cooking, saving money, and working hard. Those are some dang good life lessons I learned from her and my Grandpa.

The best part about this Ritz chicken is that it REALLY is pretty easy to make and it comes out perfect! The yogurt/sour cream coating keeps the chicken nice and moist, and the crackers give it a savory crunch. This video will show you how to do the next few steps... take a minute to follow us on our YOUTUBE channel so you never miss a video!

    Greek yogurt or sour cream?

So, how do you choose what you want? Why am I giving you a choice? It's really about personal preference. Greek yogurt is a really great substitute for sour cream in recipes. It has a similar texture, thickness, and taste. They both are full of vitamins and calcium. Greek yogurt is less in calories and fat and has many other nutrients. However, that doesn't mean that sour cream is unhealthy, and it if is the only thing you've got in your fridge, then by golly, use it! Either option will make your Ritz chicken taste delicioso.

Step1. Butterfly chicken breast (demo in video)

    Step 2.Coat in yogurt/sour cream

Step 3. Coat in crumb coating (Rtiz+seasonings+cheese)

    Step 4. Drizzle with butter

Step 5. Bake! (love my thermo pop!)

Step 6. EAT! This Ritz chicken pairs easily with ANY side dish. Put it on top of pasta- like this Alfredo, or to the side of mashed potatoes, or even roasted veggies. Or just a big healthy salad! Like this one, or this one, or this one.
