Need a fun bubbly drink for a special occasion that's non-alcoholic? This mock champagne made with just three ingredients is the perfect answer! Not only is a glass of non-alcoholic champagne kid-friendly but it's delicious and perfect for toasting for guests of all ages!
I don't drink, but it's always fun to have something special to ring in the New Year. Something bubbly and different. Something in a fancy glass. So - I came up with this idea.
As a grown-up, my husband and I always toast the New Year and kiss. I really love including this champagne substitute non-alcoholic in that tradition.
This holiday season and on New Year's Eve try this bubbly beverage with your family or your festive party. Alcohol-free champagne is a cinch to whip up!
Why This Easy Recipe Works
- Festive holiday drink. Bubbles make any occasion or holiday feel a bit more fun!
- Kid-friendly. Make the kids feel included by giving them a drink to toast with for special occasions.
- Three simple ingredients. It just doesn't get any easier than this!
Ingredients to Make Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine
There are only three ingredients in the fake champagne recipe. You heard me right - three ingredients!
- Ginger ale: If serving for special occasions, splurge on a quality ginger ale such as Canada Dry. You want it to have a good balance of carbonation, sweetness, and ginger flavor.
- White grape juice: The juice balances out the ginger ale and the color of the ginger ale makes it look super close to champagne.
- Raspberries: Fresh berries add something special to the glass!
How to Make Mock Champagne
Make this mock bubbly in just one easy step!
Mix the chilled ginger ale and white grape juice in a large pitcher.
Garnish with raspberries. It really is that easy!
Variations
- Pomegranate: Swap out the raspberries with pomegranate seeds and add a splash of pomegranate juice.
- Strawberry: Add strawberry puree to the bottom of each glass for a strawberry mock champagne.
- Pink: Transform it into non-alcoholic pink champagne with a couple of drops of red food coloring or a splash of purple grape juice.
- Non-Alcoholic Mimosa: Add the non-alcoholic champagne to half a glass of orange juice to make a classic mimosa without alcohol.
- Less sweet: If you want mock champagne with a little less sweetness, swap out the desired amount of ginger ale with sparkling water.
How to Garnish and Serve Fake Champagne
- Fresh berries: Float smaller berries such as raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries in the bottom of the glass or you can add a strawberry to the edge of the glass. Even better, try these sugared cranberries!
- Sugared glass rim: Add a sugared glass rim for an extra special presentation. Pour fine grain sugar on a small plate, wet the rim of the glass with a slice of lemon, and then dip the rim of the glass in the sugar.
- Citrus zest: Make a ribbon of citrus you can float in the glass for added flavor and garnish. Slice a bit of citrus peel using a paring knife taking care to not go too dip. Give it a little twist and then add it to the glass.
- Citrus slices: Add a slice of orange, lemon, or lime to the glass rim.
- Serving glass: To make it feel like the real deal, use a champagne flute.

Expert Tips and FAQs
- Use chilled ingredients. This is not a drink you want to serve over ice. Drinking it chilled makes it taste crisper and more bubbly.
- Serve immediately. For the best flavor and bubbles.
- Make it a part of your holiday tradition. Toast and clink glasses at the stroke of midnight.
All you need are three simple ingredients. Ginger ale and grape juice give it a sweet-spicy flavor and a bit of champagne color while the raspberries make each glass of champagne extra special. Serve it up in a champagne flute to make your toast!
Not really. It will lose its bubbles if it sits for too long. For the best flavor and most bubbly fake champagne, make it at the last minute and serve it up cold.

I'm planning to invite a friend & her daughter to join us for a Mommy & Me Mother's Day brunch at home!
Mommies will have Prosecco Mimosas & our tweens are going to LOVE these 'Fake' Mimosas, especially in fancy glasses!! Great idea to use white grape juice! And the raspberries will look soo pretty!!
We've just recently purchased a BlendJet so I think we'll have crushed-ice on tap to really make BOTH kinds of Mimosas nice, sorta slushy!
Definitely going to make the cucumber tea sandwiches... not sure what else, but definitely having a chocolate fondue amd bananas, strawberries & apples for dunking!
Thanks, we'll take pics and tag ya on Instagram (before the Mommy Mimosas kick-in)! LOL!

How does the white grape juice concentrate translate to white grape juice off the shelf?? None of the stores around me have the white grape juice in stock... ????
Kadee says
Use 32 ounces white grape juice and 1 liter of gingerale. It won't be as strong of a grape flavor, but it will still be delicious!
Rachel says
So with the substitution, will you still add 2 L of ginger ale as well for a total of 3L?
Kadee says
Hi Rachel, What substitution are you referring to?
