We are so excited to share a little collaboration we have been working on with KitchenAid! You heard that right, the one and only KitchenAid!! Sometimes it feels a little surreal that we get to work with amazing companies like them. We are kinda lucky. Today we are going to be showing off their pasta attachments. I’ve been dreaming of these bad boys for years… and now after trying them out, I realize the homemade pasta goodness I have been missing out on.
For The Love Of Pasta
I love love love a good pasta and even more than just pasta, homemade pasta. There is something different about the freshness and soft texture that just can’t be found in dried boxed pastas. Granted some brands do pretty well, but if you really want a special dish, homemade is the way to go. I’ve made homemade noodles many times before and afterwards felt like it was quite a mess and consumed way too much of my time to be a regular dinner occurrence. KitchenAid takes care of the mess and the time issue with their pasta attachments. Let me show you how…
Making Homemade Pasta With The Kitchenaid
Any homemade pasta is pretty basic.. click here for one of my favorites. I made a basic whole wheat pasta. Whole wheat flour sometimes comes with little grains still whole in it. This adds some fun texture but also might demand a little more water. Just a little tip when trying to get your dough the right consistency.. if it is really crumbly, add a tablespoon more water. If is sticky, add a tsp of flour. I tend to have to add more water, I live in Idaho and we have a super dry climate. When I lived in California I rarely had to add more. So just be aware that many factors affect your dough consistency. A little practice and you will figure out the perfect texture!
Here is a little sneak peek of a delicious Italian recipe I made to cover those tender whole wheat pasta noodles I made… coming soon!
