What are fruity pebbles?
Fruity Pebbles contains crisp rice cereal bits that come in a variety of fruit flavors. You can find these just in your cereal isle of your grocery store. They come in both a box and a bulk bag form.

- Rice Krispies- I like to divide the fruity pebbles with Rice Krispies. Fruity pebbles can be quite sugary especially with the marshmallows. Adding some Rice Krispies balances the sugar.
- MINI-marshmallows- these melt more evenly and quickly than the large marshmallows.
- Brown butter- Using your regular butter you will melt this in your pan first. I'll show you how below.
How to Make brown butter fruity pebble treats
- In a large pan start by melting your butter on medium heat.
- Let it continue to cook until it starts to foam and turn a light brown color.
- When it is at the brown color, turn down heat and immediately add your marshmallows.
- stir together for about 30 seconds to heat the marshmallows
Stir in your fruity pebbles and rice Krispies
- as the marshmallows begin to soften add in your rice crisps and fruity pebbles.
- Stir until well combined.
Expert Tips and Tricks for making brown butter fruity pebble treats
- If you want a chewy marshmallow chunks in your treats reserve 1-2 cups of marshmallows and stir them in after your fruity pebbles have been added.
- use a large pan so you can combine everything in that pan and not have to dirty several pans or bowls.
- Line your 9x13 pan with parchment paper. When the treats have cooled this helps to remove them from the pan and cut them so much easier.
- If you want your treats sweeter or less sweet alter the proportions of the Rice Krispies and fruity pebbles. You can do half and half or split to your desire. just keep it at the same number of cups. 10 cups total of cereal.
Cool in 9x13 Pan
Place your fruity pebble treats in a 9x13 pans and let cool for at least an hour. Cut and serve!
Thick and Chewy Fruity Pebble Treats
These fruity pebble treats are my favorite because of how thick, marshmallowy chewy they are. The brown butter adds the most delicious grourmet flavor. This are a similar recipe to our viral Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats.
You can rub butter on your 9x13 pan, spray with a non-stick pan or line with a parchment paper for easy removal.
This means that the sugars (in the marshmallows) were cookies too long. Make sure as soon as the marshmallows are put into the pan you turn off the heat or down as low as it goes. Only stir them for about 30 seconds to get them melting and add fruity pebbles.

Ingredients
- 6 cups fruity pebbles
- 4 cups rice Krispies
- 20 oz mini marshmallows (2 10oz bag)
- 1 cup butter
Instructions
- In a large pot, over medium heat, add your butter.
- Let butter melt and start to bubble. Once it starts to foam it will turn a brown color very quickly. Once it turns brown turn off heat.
- Immediately add in your marshmallows and toss in the hot butter for about 30 seconds. Add in Rice Krispies and your fruity pebbles. Stir until combined and pour into your 9x13 pan.
