We are major veggie lovers. My mom taught us to LOOOVE our veggies, and now all her kids do. I'm trying so hard to instill these veggie loving beliefs on my children. I make it a priority to cook a veggie every dinner and always plate them. Some of my kids may throw express unhappy feelings about vegetables but thats ok. I'll keep introducing them over and over. They'll grow to love them. Taste buds change, and so do attitudes. I plan on cultivating them into a veggie lovin fools. One tip my mom . . .
I love in the fall when my garden is over flowing with ripe, delicious zucchini. I love to make all things zucchini, from zoodles, to zucchini chocolate cake, classic zucchini bread... the list goes on! But I especially love to whip up a batch of fried zucchini! This recipe for fried zucchini is a special one. Why? Often the batter for zucchini can over power and weigh down the vegetable. Zucchini is such a light soft veggie you want the batter to compliment it, not dominate it! This . . .
There can never be too many varieties of lasagna, right? This is one that my mom often made for us growing up. She is a big veggie lover and advocate of teaching children to love veggies. That's a pretty good success rate right? She also grows her own garden each year, and this time of year her squash is going crazy! She is . . .
For our last book club we read Unbroken by Laura Hildabrand. It was a great read....aaaaaaand what does it have to do with food? :) Most of the book Louis is a Japanese POW so of course I needed to relate that to food? ha. I decided to have a Japanese food-themed book club. Complete with mochi, seaweed, sushi, my fav, SHARK Gummies (he was stranded at sea for like 47 days...circled by sharks) and, because I lovelovelove tempura I made it! I just really love . . .
I have wanted to make one of these pies for a long time, but to be honest I'm not the biggest pot pie person. My husband, however, is. He really enjoys and good pot pie, and since I have a good pie crust recipe (and know I can pull it off) I decided to see if I could pull off the inside. I looked up a bunch of other recipes and noticed a lot of them called for things like canned cream of chicken soup or a can of veg-all. Not what I'm going for. I want the creamy gravy inside. maybe even . . .
