When it comes down to that crucial moment between letting the blob of baby food drip down your cherub's chin and onto her sparkling-clean brand-new top you just spent 5 minutes wresting her to button up or preserving said outfit, I vote for preserving said outfit. So yes, I quickly wipe away the blob with my thumb. Do I stop what I'm doing to get up and wash it off in the sink or with a paper towel? No. I lick it off myself. Because 'aint nobody got time for civility when you're a momma. Have . . .

Who else buys those applesauce squeeze-packs in bulk from Costco? My kid loves them, and I love that he's basically eating an apple while I'm grocery shopping, driving, at church, or this past weekend, at the lake. What I don't love (well, more what my husband doesn't love) is the cost of those things. And when you really start to think about it, it's quite a bit of environmental waste for something you could be reusing. Enter Laura, our Healthy Mama this week. She and her husband came up . . .
It's birthday season around our house. I have four important b-days to celebrate this week - including my hub. So what better way to have your cake and eat it too, along with your ice cream - than to put both into a milkshake!? My first introduction to the fusion of cake and ice cream was at Portillo's in Buena Park. Des turned me on to this little restaurant - they serve a dang good beef sandwich and are famous for their chocolate cake shakes. Such a treat to eat there! As a matter . . .

Hi! I’m Robin: wife and mom of 3 little ones! We LOVE to eat and do a LOT of it. I have a BIG SWEET tooth so I ALWAYS find myself craving treats. But I hate the feeling of eating sugar all day long and after having kids I realized eating sugar all day is not helpful…Sugar crashes with kids can be less than ideal:) So whenever I can, I feed my sweet tooth through healthy options. One of my tricks is fruit. My kids LOVE fruit! Its sweet. Its fresh. It’s healthier than processed treats . . .
Two years ago, my husband read the book Eat To Live after my cousin got him super excited about green smoothies. I left our cousin's house less-than-thrilled about this new venture he was taking on, and just kinda brushed it under the rug. No. There was no brushing to be had. Homeboy was going big, and he was not going home any time soon. Not only did I have to hear about this book, keep the lid on my bubbling disdain for any fad diets, and be nice to my newly-health-crazed husband, but I had to . . .

I'm Mel from SoFestive -- a blog dedicated to real and simple ideas to make your party, holidays, and life a bit more festive. One of the biggest myths when it comes to party planning and entertaining is that it's complicated, hard, and has to be Pinterest-worthy to be a success. Sure, we all like an awesome party, but . . .
This year Sydney turned 8. Actually, she turned 8 on the 8th her golden birthday. We don't do big parties every year, just at certain ages. 8 is a big year for Sydney. It was a "big party" year, you can imagine the drama and excitement before hand....ok, maybe you can't imagine. WELL let me tell you since Syd was born she has always been very dramatic, very girly girly, very clever and witty, very opinionated. (we're in trouble folks) Eventually she chose to do a "doll party" for her birthday. . . .
