Have you ever had a steamer before? Do you like them? I kinda do. If you don't know what a "steamer" is.. it's basically milk that has been heated with added flavor. I once-upon-a-time worked in a Sandwich Shop.. Tony's in Walla Walla, WA. (best panini's if you are in the area). Anyhow they had a little coffee bar that we would experiment with making all sorts of concoctions. I loved to make steamers, the milk was the perfect base for any crazy flavor mix I was in the mood for. Now I get my . . .
I just love warm cidery drinks like this cranberry spiced cider. They don't leave me as heavy and caloried down like I feel after a cup of hot chocolate (don't get me wrong there are many times when a frothy hot cocoa is calling my name too), I just feel warmed and refreshed. It's even better when a blanket and or book (or my favorite TV show hehe ) is involved. My cute friend, who also gave me this cranberry salsa recipe to share, made this Cranberry Cider for a church event last . . .
Everyone has a favorite treat that they grew up with that they feel is the "very best ever," and I'm no exception. My grandpa makes the best fudge. Each Christmas he would make several batches - some with nuts, some without. I always selected the variety without the nuts because I'm a purist when it comes to treats - I like my banana bread with no chocolate chips, and my fudge free from nuts. This last Thanksgiving my family came into town for the holiday. My mom brought a container of . . .
Christmas is creeping up on us - and I am frantically trying to finish up all of my shopping and wrapping. Infact - today is Super Saturday and there are lots of good sales going on for the last minute shopper. Stocking stuffers are always last on my list, however I always enjoy filling my family's stocking with treats, and small items - and always an orange! Today I wanted to share a few stocking stuffer ideas (or hints) for the foodie in your life. Stocking Stuffers For the Busy . . .

Someone very wise once said that a party without cake is just a meeting. Well, Julia Childs, I couldn't agree more! And chocolate cake is never a bad thing, especially when it's pretty and festive and makes you ohso happy it's the holidays so you can top your cake with things like peppermint sticks and rosemary wreaths. Cake For A Party I can't have a party and not have a cake. My go-to the past several parties I've had has been this Salted Caramel Chocolate Cinnamon Cake because it's . . .
I've been looking forward to this post for a while now! We were invited to share in the excitement of Martha Stewart's 7th season of Martha Bakes on PBS and give you a peek at one of her recipes - this Cranberry Tart. I don't know about you but aside from my mother's kitchen, I learned to cook from TV! I've spent many days watching various food celebrities whip up desserts and dinners. Watching the process and learning techniques has transformed my own culinary skills. I'm so looking forward . . .
So I like pumpkin rolls, alot. Every fall I make oodles of them. Wrap them up and store them in the fridge, cut a slice or two for guests. Maybe a quick after school snack for the kids. They are awesome. Best part they are pretty simple to make. Pumpkin rolls make great gifts for the holiday's or as a dessert for a party! The Simple Pumpkin Roll They are pretty simple to make as well, just mix up the batter and pour into a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake! Then invert onto . . .

After Thanksgiving I always crave something light...something refreshing and simple. A few years ago I enjoyed a salad with craved turkey at a local restaurant in Utah that was so stinking good! It had roasted turkey, dried cranberries, sunflower seed, avocado, mozzarella cheese, and a pink poppyseed dressing. It was heaven. This is my version of that carved turkey salad - and I promise it will hit the spot after that heavy Thanksgiving meal! If you are gettin' a cravin' for this . . .
