I get a lot of questions about what kind of camera or lens I use to take my food pictures, so I thought I'd spill the beans about what is in my camera bag. My wish list is longer than my arm, but these are my go-to's. 1. Camera Body When it comes to a camera body all of us here at Oh So use a Cannon 70D or 80D. The camera has some really nice features including wifi, a touch screen, and really great video quality. Canon EOS 80D Digital SLR Camera 2. Lenses As far as lenses, I . . .
Strawberry season is just getting started and I have a strawberry shortcake recipe that will leave you wondering how you have been without it all this time! This is a true shortcake recipe in that it is a quick, sweet biscuit-like cake that is crumbly and with a little sugary crunch filled with strawberry puree and sweet cream! It really is as heavenly as it sounds. Strawberry shortcakes make a great summer dessert that is light and sweet. Or, if you are in the mood, they make a fantastic . . .
Zoodles have been popping up all over the internet and food blogs for a little while now, and I was dying to get something that would turn my zucchini into dang noodles! All the recipes look amazing! (Remember Kadee's Pad Thai Zoodles?) Once my dear friend heard I was dying to try zoodles she invited me over for lunch and made pesto zoodles. They were so good. I left dreaming of making my own pesto zoodles, with maybe some tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil. I decided it was worth . . .
Growing up my mom would make these butterscotch pull apart on Christmas morning and on Easter morning. They were always a perfect perfect special addition to her egg soufflé. Make-Ahead Breakfast I love to serve these for brunches and baby showers too! They are a make ahead food, so you aren't scrambling during the hustle bustle, but end up with a delicious dish. Use frozen rolls as a base. I prefer the Rhodes brand, but have found them difficult to find these days. They really are . . .
With Easter morning around the corner, I thought I would share our breakfast tradition of egg souffle. I've shared this recipe on the blog before, but wanted to pull it forward for the upcoming holiday. Holiday Traditions Growing up my mom would ALWAYS make this meal on Easter and Christmas morning. As an adult I've continued this tradition and always look forward to that little reminder of home on the holidays. Not only is this meal special and delicious - but all the work in done the . . .
We DO like Green Eggs and Ham...Waffle Sandwich, that is! Aren't you tired of oatmeal or toast? Let's try something new for breakfast, shall we? Brunch? Brinner? Trust me, it all works. Crispy Waffles I have been on the hunt for the perfect, crispy waffle for YEARS. Years, my friends. We have a delicious, healthy, hearty recipe for Oatmeal Waffles on here, but I wanted something simple and light and crisp--you know, the guilty kind with absolutley no health benefits. I've tried folding in . . .
I attended a "favorite things" party recently where my good friend Megan Papworth served this white chocolate raspberry bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes. It's delicious! One of her friends turned to me and said, if you made a copycat recipe of this cake for your site I would forever love you. What do I say? Challenge accepted! I am not a "cake from scratch" type of girl. I'm more of a "semi-homemade" type of girl when it comes to baking. So the beautiful thing about this white chocolate . . .
Our last book club we met at a popular restaurant here in southern California called WoodRanch Grill. I've been a handful of times and have loved everything I've ordered from the menu. One of my friends suggested I get the peanut slaw that night. Peanut slaw? It sounded just like what I was craving...even though it was a late evening and usually a time when one would order dessert, I wanted something savory. This Peanut Slaw was IT. It really hit the spot. I loved that it wasn't heavy and . . .
You guys - we survived Expo West again this year. Each year we look forward to meeting with new companies and ones we have loved for years. Our feet are left sore but our cups are filled. Today Des and I (Kadee) want to share some of our favorite finds from the Expo. Janice Design Before we jump in, I have to share the cutest backpacks that we wore inside of the Anaheim convention center. With samples and business cards galore we needed good shoes and backpacks. I'm kind of loving that . . .
You know what Asian restaurants are really good at making? Two things--Asian food and doughnuts. Here in Texas (and back in California) we have real doughnut shops on every corner. So I've grown to be picky, and these absolutely do not compare to grocery store doughnuts! And the Asian food...MAN do they make some good fried rice, egg drop soup, crab rangoons, and pork spring rolls! There's a lot of food that I love to fry, and I feel like I fry more food than most. People complain of it . . .
