One of my favorite little treats when I wander around the mall is an original orange julius. I love those sweet, frothy, cold perfect drinks – – and they are becoming harder and harder to come by.
Several years back a friend shared this recipe and it was love at first sip. It is so darn close to the original orange julius that you’ll feel like you’re pushing your stroller around the mall, window shopping, and sipping on the real deal.
And the best part? You whip this up with things you have in your pantry! Frozen orange juice concentrate, sugar, vanilla, ice, water and milk! That’s it! Toss it all in your blender and blend until smooth. I like to set my blendtec to milkshake mode and let it run the cycle – it comes out perfectly smooth and frothy – just like at the mall. :)
- 6 oz frozen orange concentrate (half of the can)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 8 ice cubes
- Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth and frothy.
