I grew up with a family that loved to hunt and fish and camp. I have really fond memories of fishing with my dad and then cooking up our catch for dinner. Some have an aversion to sea food, but I kind of adore it - especially salmon. It is packed with healthy omegas and leaves you satisfied without feeling like you ate a brick. Salmon with a Kick I've been making this recipe every since I was a newlywed. It's fast and tasty, which is kind of my motto. The combination of the flaky salmon, . . .
This is one of our family's favorites. I started making it a while ago because 1. I was out of groceries, but had a few veggies. 2. we were out of money till pay day and 3. I was out of time. SO if you have even one of these problems...well, even if you don't. You need to make this sausage + veggie sheet pan meal. It is packed with flavor, veggies and whole foods. Everyone from kids to picky adults will love it. The Veggies 1.You can fill your pan up with any vegetable or root vegetable . . .
Skewers are one of our favorite dinners! These rainbow steak skewers are really a staple at our house, and they are such a great way to eat the rainbow and your veggies! My mother-in-law gave me the greatest tip when it comes to cooking skewered food - skewer all of the one veggie or protein on one skewer. That way you can cook them evenly without burning the onions while cooking the steak. This way you can remove items sooner or later during your grill session and everything will come out . . .
We are obsessed with our pressure cookers here at OhSo. Two of us have Instant Pots and the other two have Power Pressure Cookers XL. Tender meats cooked FAST seem to be the golden ticket, but I wanted to do something different. Maybe even vegetarian...this Pressure Cooker Veggie Lasagna is a total winner. Pressure cooker lasagna isn't really different from lasagna cooked in the oven. You use no-boil noodles, layer the sauce, ricotta, cheese as usual, add a bunch of veggies, and cover . . .
I don't know about you - but pancakes are a favorite around my house. My boys all LOVE pancakes and ask for them morning, noon, and night. As a kid I also loved a good pancake. My mom loves to tell the story about how I consumed only pancakes and hotdogs for the first 3 years of my life. I still like pancakes, but a few hot dogs per year is all I can handle. Homemade Mini Pancakes I was inspired to create this recipe after spending a small fortune on packages of store-bought frozen . . .

With Easter morning around the corner, I thought I would share our breakfast tradition of egg souffle. I've shared this recipe on the blog before, but wanted to pull it forward for the upcoming holiday. Holiday Traditions Growing up my mom would ALWAYS make this meal on Easter and Christmas morning. As an adult I've continued this tradition and always look forward to that little reminder of home on the holidays. Not only is this meal special and delicious - but all the work in done the . . .
We DO like Green Eggs and Ham...Waffle Sandwich, that is! Aren't you tired of oatmeal or toast? Let's try something new for breakfast, shall we? Brunch? Brinner? Trust me, it all works. Crispy Waffles I have been on the hunt for the perfect, crispy waffle for YEARS. Years, my friends. We have a delicious, healthy, hearty recipe for Oatmeal Waffles on here, but I wanted something simple and light and crisp--you know, the guilty kind with absolutley no health benefits. I've tried folding in . . .
You know what Asian restaurants are really good at making? Two things--Asian food and doughnuts. Here in Texas (and back in California) we have real doughnut shops on every corner. So I've grown to be picky, and these absolutely do not compare to grocery store doughnuts! And the Asian food...MAN do they make some good fried rice, egg drop soup, crab rangoons, and pork spring rolls! There's a lot of food that I love to fry, and I feel like I fry more food than most. People complain of it . . .
Man, feeding yourself can be a beast! Honestly it can consume most our day if we let it, especially if you're feeding other humans along with yourself. As a mother of 4 kids I feel my life is spent in the kitchen. I'm either cooking or cleaning..... or standing wondering what the heck to make! The key to making this whole eating experience a pleasant one is meal prep and planning. We hope that this week of buddha bowls has helped you in your efforts! Today's bowl is a Thai Buddha Bowl. Why . . .
