When we were planning a little get together for the launch, I was also planning a birthday party for my daughter– so Pinterest to the rescue!! I knew themes I wanted in general for both parties. For Oh So I wanted a black, white and silver -keeping it a super simple theme. As I was perusing around pinterest I came upon this picture.
Isn’t that tablecloth to die for?! It’s a silver 6ft sequin table cloth that goes for, oh, about $300. holy moly. I actually REALLY love all the sequin tablecloths on pinterest. they are just so pretty to stare at. You should go search that term, after you read this post of course :)
So there you go, that was my inspiration. silver sparkly (possible striped) tablecloth and silver sparkly tassels.
$300 isn’t in my pocketbook but I can do a little DIY to make it possible. I chose to get the big chunky glitter to make it have the closest appearance to sequence as possible. It also conveniently comes in the big giant bottles for the best price. score.
What you will need
2. white disposable tablecloth *clear table cloth to cover if desired.
3. permanent spray adhesive
Unfold and lay table cloth flat, use the long “folding” lines as your spray lines- creates prefect straight lines!! I sprayed big wide lines. and doused the line with tons of glitter! repeat if necessary.
Allow glue to dry. Spray glue does kind of get everywhere, so I made sure I had plenty of time to let it dry everywhere.
Carefully transport your table cloth to the table (I recommend using two people) if it will be used for a lot of activity (not just show) you might want to consider picking up a clear tablecloth cover to protect both tablecloth and activity.
For the tassels, I found Mylar Tissue Paper at Michaels- in the gift wrap section, and followed THIS tutorial. the mylar paper is sure a pain, but worth it.
I loved the look of clear patterned washi tape on clear cups- especially when the drinks are so colorful and full of life themselves. (…which will post soon don’t worry) The cups are the great value brand at walmart! I gathered different kinds of Black and white washi tape from various stores. Target had some on clearance, Michael’s also had rolls on clearance. The polka dot straws also from Target. Kadee introduced me to these stainless sliver straws, and they are my FAVORITE, from amazon.
This week is full of sparkle, fun, food, ideas and of course a giveaway! so stay tuned I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the least : )
